What is sustainable enterprise?
A Sustainable enterprise is an enterprise which is created to last. What is meant by this is, the enterprise or business that has been created should have a long-term plan and outcome to it that will in future allow the company to stay together and grow.
The sustainability depends on the type of business and what you as the business owner can come up with as a long-term plan, depending on the company this may be something that you know will create easy revenue or an idea that has not been achieved before and will sky rocket in value. Whatever it is, it has to be unique and create its own staple in that particular business.
Sustainable can also be taken as a company that is environmentally friendly for instants, Super 8 Studios could be a good example in the way we travel as a company as, we are currently only two students meaning travelling will not create much pollution for the two of us as, we will work close to the college meaning that we can walk or take the bus to the destination instead taking multiple cars or other forms of transport to minimise the amount of pollution we create whilst travelling.
How could a sustainable plan support my Mission statement?
By helping to understand how achievable the aims are for the company and how sustainable our enterprise would be in the long run, it will help us by being the building blocks of our company as, it will be what we want the company to fully achieve and how it will stand out to the other companies that are in the same line of work as ours.
Where might my enterprise aim for a ‘triple bottom line’:
Profit- Our enterprise could gain profit easily to start with by creating promotional content for businesses that are looking for that particular service, it is an easy source of income to start the business with and will allow us to become more sustainable in the future.
People- Our enterprise can benefit people by once again creating promotional content for businesses, our enterprise will also offer a free service if the business that is interested in having promotion made does not want to pay or not in a good enough position to pay for the service as, we will gladly take the experience of working with a client too.
The enterprise can also benefit people by, pushing their businesses out on social media gaining more attention to them and bringing in more customers and clients to their line of work.
Planet- As previously stated our enterprise will also be sustainable by, being environmentally friendly where we can. This could be as simple as not leaving rubbish anywhere after a shoot or, being careful when filming not to disturb wildlife or habitats in the area of filming, we will also be working locally so we can walk or take the bus instead of using other forms of transportation that pollute the planet more.

Super 8 studios Funding:
Different types of funding:
Barclays offer a start-up bank loan for your business that allows you to take up to £25,000 out at one time if necessary and it does not matter what business type you need it for. Meaning if you have proof that you’re a starting organisation that needs help to get the foundation started they will help.
The only thing needed to prove for a start-up business is your business annual forecasted sales for that year you want the loan for. For Super 8 Studios we would have to give a rough estimate as, it depends solely on how many job offers we can get in that year.
-
National Lottery- https://network.bfi.org.uk/short-film-funding
The national lottery offers a wide range of funding opportunities for anyone across the UK, they support many creative businesses but the chosen one fits Super 8 Studios the best as, it is to help start-up short film makers. They are partnered with ‘BFI Network’ to help young people find their footing in the media industry with help also to find studios to hire and help to get into film festivals.
Our company can be granted funding from £1-£15,000 to help with the creation of short films however, to be granted this money we have to prove we are comfortable in making a short film that meets their requirements and have a team to support us create this piece.
-
Princes Trust Fund- https://www.princes-trust.org.uk/help-for-young-people/support-starting-business
Princes trust fund is different to the previous examples as, they are a very involved company meaning there is no straight forward cap of money you can be granted instead they work out the best possible route you can take with your business and talk to you about how you can go about funding the business. They specialise in helping young people start-up their businesses to have a good footing into the real world of the media industry and have a good funding source to start.
Different types of shared banks:
Barclays offer a shared bank account for start-up businesses that supply the company with a free first year of banking and after the first year a set rate that does not change unless rates increase.
This bank account also gives the company the pleasure of banking on your phone on the move meaning, when making transactions or transferring money to people it makes it easier to do on the go. It also allows the company to easily track the business expenses made on the go.
-
Virgin Money- https://uk.virginmoney.com/business/current-accounts/m-account-for-business/#featured-benefits
Virgin Money offer a similar account as Barclays; however, they offer a bank account without a monthly charge that can be used online by any business owner or founder.
